- The Adult Literacy Research Network Node(ALRNNV) is funded by Language Australia and managed by a consortium made up of three partners: Victoria University of Technology (VUT), Western Melbourne Institute of TAFE and Kangan and Batman Institute of TAFE. These three institutions are represented on a steering group which meets monthly to manage the activities of the ALRNNV.

John Wilson is Director of the Adult Literacy Research Network Node for Victoria. He is Principal Lecturer and Professor in the Department of Education with responsibility for coordinating research students ((M.Ed by Research and Ph.D). He teaches evaluation and Research Methods. John has written two books - Student Learning in Higher Education (1981) and Appraising Teaching Quality (1988). His current research is the LLTT (Literacy Learning Through Technology) project which is funded by Department of Employment, Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DEETYA).). John is editor of the Evaluation Journal of Australasia.

Beverley Campbell is the Coordinator of Adult Literacy Research Network Node for Victoria (ALRNNV). She is particularly keen to encourage practitioners to develop research expertise based on their own classroom practice. This interest arises out of her involvement in professional development and teaching in University courses for adult literacy teachers. Syed Javed is coordinator of Information Technology Projects run by Adult Literacy Reserach Network Node of Victoria (ALRNNV) at the Department of Education. He runs and maintains adult literacy mailing list and ALRNNV website. Syed has been involved in online training for a number of years and currently he is working as an online tutor in a professional development course for VET teachers. Syed's main area of interest is in working with teachers and learners of literacy and basic education. Syed's main employer is Western Melbourne Institute of TAFE where he works with the Department of Adult Basic Education. Syed is persuing his PhD in the Education Department at VUT studying the impact of new learning technologies on the practice of literacy and basic education. He is also author of An Internet Guide for Literacy Teachers and Researchers.
