Length from the tip of the beard to a point well within the gilled sliver. The distribution is purely due to fibre extraction by the apron and removal of fibre ends by withdrawing rollers. __before circular combing __after circular combing. |

__Noil which can be expressed as a percentage of the gilled sliver. To learn more about fibre behaviour and its relationships to cam shapes at the comb follow the comb icon to; [TABLE OF CONTENT] [Nep & VM count by image analysis] [Apron Drive Simulation] |
| This is the work in collaboration with Dr.Kirby who originated the Non selection function theory. I extended this work and relate this work to the geometry of the comb and its cams. Work is ongoing. see also [ FIBRE ] for related history of the combing project pre 1993. |
