Sorry no wetsuits are available from Sports Complex. A weight belt mould is also available for people who wish to make up their own weights. A qualified divers card (FAUI, PADI, NAUI, ETC) is required to be shown to borrow dive gear and VUT SCUBA membership is needed to obtain the above prices which are half the normal cost.

A priority arrangement exists so that official club dives and organised functions will have preference over gear hire for these particular dates.

The Tinnie

The club now also has a 12ft Tinnie with 25 Hp outboard which is available to members who pay a service levy (not a hire fee) of $20 / day or $30 / weekend.  A deposit may be required on booking and a bond of $100 will need to be left to encourage members to be responsible with club equipment. Cost of damage or loss of equipment due to negligence will need to be carried by the member.

There is a full compliment of anchor, rope. flares, life jackets, trailer lights, storage box, Dolphin style waterproof torch, handheld radio, EPIRB (for offshore use), etc. There is also a depth sounder and proper marine radio but these require a 12 volt battery to be supplied by the member if required.

It is again expected that club functions and diving activities will have a priority over normal use but outside of this it will be available for members for other club related activities such as fishing.
