Bulletin of Sport and Culture

MISSION STATEMENT

The Bulletin of Sport and Culture is a publication of Victoria University’s Sport and Culture Group, a collaborative group of scholars devoted to research and publications dealing with sport and Australian culture.  It is supported by a grant from the School of Sport and Exercise Science.  The principal aims of the Bulletin are to: Provide links between sport historians, philosophers, sociologists and managers, especially in Australia and New Zealand; and make current research and the activities of these groups more accessible to the media and other parties with an interest or stake in sport and cultural matters.  Submissions such as topical essays on sport and cultural issues, conference reports, book, exhibition and film reviews, essays dealing with current research and teaching in sport and culture, and notice of forthcoming conferences and seminars, are welcome.

EDITORIAL STRUCTURE

Each issue of the Bulletin of Sport and Culture is overseen by the Executive Editor, a Guest Editor and a Reviews Editor, who are supported by an Editorial Board.  Associate Professor Rob Hess serves as the Executive Editor and the Reviews Editor, and the Guest Editor is appointed from the Editorial Board on a roster system.

FUTURE ISSUES

The Bulletin of Sport and Culture is published twice a year, in March and September.  The next issue will be published in March 2012.  All material should be submitted to Dr Brent McDonald at Brent.McDonald@vu.edu.au before the deadline of 15 February 2012.

BULLETIN OF SPORT AND CULTURE BOOK REVIEW REGISTER

Books for review in the Bulletin of Sport and Culture are allocated at the discretion of the Reviews Editor. Unsolicited reviews are not accepted unless prior arrangements have been made with the Reviews Editor. A Book Review Register for the Bulletin of Sport and Culture can be accessed by clicking on the link below or the Reviews link to the left of the screen. This Register contains guidelines for reviews as well as a listing of books available for review. It is updated on a regular basis.
