Welcome to the website of the
Research Group in Mathematical Inequalities and Applications (RGMIA). The Research Group is comprised of academics and researchers from
Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe and North America. The aims of the group are to:
- disseminate results via publication (both in print and
electronic
form) and conferences,
- create an awareness of the theory of inequalities and support seminars and visiting
academics,
- illustrate the applicability of inequalities in the sciences. For e.g. numerical
analysis (including quadrature and integral equations), statistics, probability and
information theory.
The RGMIA was founded in September 1998 and is based
at Victoria University. It is chaired by Professor
S.S. Dragomir and now boasts over 1200 members worldwide. The
RGMIA is recognised as one of the main research groups in the
University and in December 2007 it won the
Vice-Chancellor's Peak Award for Excellence in Research and
Research Training (Team).
We are involved in promoting Analytical
Inequalities in Australia and abroad through seminars, conferences,
printed media and, of course, the internet.
