Step 2: Get your ideas down
There are many methods of getting
your ideas down - listing, writing out in full your understanding of the essay, notes -
any of these can be adapted to reach the same outcome as the mind-map method suggested
here.
- Do a mind-map of a topic or complex
question, based on what you know already.

- Read your notes on the subject and add to
the map. If required to research, read one general text and add to the mind map. Your
mind-map can end up looking very complicated, but this is not a problem as long as you can
understand it.
