Course Overview

This is a course for students who wish to gain computing skills as well as improve their general English, with a view to entering or re-entering the workforce. It also provides a pathway to the full-time course Certificate IV ESL Vocational (Computing), offered at the Footscray Nicholson campus.


Target Group

An ASLPR level of 2 in speaking, listening, reading and writing is required, as well as an interest in gaining computing.skills.


Aims/Content

The course provides an introduction to a wide range of useful computing packages and techniques, including use of word processing software, database, email and an introduction to the Internet and on-line services. The course also provides opportunities for students to improve their English skills with a particular focus on the communication skills required for the workplace. This course also includes up to 2 weeks work experience.
