Annals
of Leisure Research
The Annals
of Leisure Research (ALR) was established in 1998 as a fully refereed
research journal, published quarterly. Each
published paper has been refereed anonymously by
at least two internationally
recognised reviewers. The journal publishes articles
that report the outcomes of leisure research projects and scholarship about leisure covering topics within the broad area of leisure studies, including
recreation, tourism, the arts, outdoor recreation, entertainment, sport,
culture and play.
The journal also includes book reviews.
Although originating in Australasia, ALR
publishes theoretical or applied articles
from around the world.
The journal seeks an international readership.
Annals
of Leisure Research replaced
the biennial publication ANZALS
Research Series, three volumes of which were published between 1993 and
1997. The three volumes of ANZALS
Research Series, and the first five volumes of ALR were single issue volumes. From 1998
(Volume 6) the journal has been published quarterly.
