Christine Riddell Director Christine in the Victorian Director of   ALNARC. She teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) and Applied linguistics streams at graduate and postgraduate levels. Christine is responsible for the ESL, Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and literacy areas within the School. She has expertise in ESL/EFL, non-verbal communication, learner variables and cross-cultural communication. Her research interests include the needs of non-English speaking background students at first year tertiary study and the ramifications of cross-cultural communication in the classroom. Liz Suda Victorian Coordinator Liz has been the manager of a community based adult language and literacy program for the past ten years. In that time she has applied her academic skills, secondary teaching experience and ongoing practice in the field, in writing numerous articles and papers on the theory and practice of adult literacy with particular emphasis on the importance of oral language in the development of literacy.
