About Staff

Dr Ian Falk
Director

Associate Professor Dr Ian Falk manages the only national institute that integrates Vocational Educator and Training with Adult Literacy and Numeracy study, as he directs and researches in both ALNARC and the Centre for Research and Learning in Regional Australia, based at the University of Tasmania in Launceston. Dr Falk is highly regarded internationally for his leading edge work in ALN research and writing, especially in workplaces and communities.

See Falk & Millar, 2001, Review of research: Literacy and numeracy in vocational education and training, at http://www.ncver.edu.au/cgi-bin/gda.pl?id=1753. The aim of this report is to bring together the major insights from research since 1990 on literacy and numeracy as they relate to vocational education and training. The report reviews the literature and identifies issues and themes in the areas of policy, practice and research on the topic.
