We'd also love to hear from you!

2. Personal Details Form
Once again I'm mentioning the necessity of changing your address. Many of you have already left us...and if you have done so and not filled out this form you will need to do so to recieve your transcripts.

Complete a personal amendment form (you can obtain this form by clicking on the link below). Once the form is completed you can either fax this to: +61 3 9919 1009 or scan it and send via email as an attachment to: sharon.boyd@vu.edu.au

I will submit the form to Enrolment Management on your behalf.

NOTE: Some of you are just emailing me your home address and expecting it to be forwarded to Enrolment Management. The form requires your signature....so you will not receive your transcripts unless the correct form is completed and returned.

3. Tax Information
If you have worked during your visit with us you must complete and lodge your Tax Return before you leave! The Australian Taxation Office will accept an early lodgement of individual tax returns before the end of the financial year if you are returning home permanently, and you are ceasing to be a resident of Australia for tax purposes, and you will no longer generate Australian based income.

How to lodge an early return
1. Obtain a copy of the 2004 TaxPack.
2. Obtain the form Taxpayer leaving Australia – Request for early assessment (NAT 3407). You can get this form by going to the ATO website at http://www.ato.gov.au/content/downloads/NAT3407-04.pdf, or from your nearest TaxOffice shopfront or by contacting Victoria University Student Financial Advisor on 9919 4180.3.Collect a payment summary from each of your employers plus details of other income you have earned while in Australia. 4. Complete your tax return by filling in a 2004 return, cross out 2004 on the front page of the return and in bold mark the return 2005. 5.Attach the completed Taxpayer leaving Australia – Request for early assessment to the front of the return and post both forms, along with any payment summaries from your employers, to GPO Box 9990 in your capital city. NB: Due to changes that occur in any given financial year, your return
may not be processed till after the end of the 2004/2005 financial year. If you are suffering from financial hardship, you may qualify for priority processing. Ring the ATO on 13 2861 for more information. For further assistance please contact Nuria, Student Financial Advisor on 9919 4180

4.Testimonial Form
We really enjoyed having you with us at Victoria University, and we admire your sense of adventure shown by you coming to study in a country that is very remote from your home country. As such, we'd love to hear what you thought about Victoria University and Melbourne. We will make this information available to new students from overseas who express interest in studying at Victoria University.

The form will only take a few minutes to complete. You can complete it by opening the document (Word), saving it, attaching it to email and forwarding to sharon.boyd@vu.edu.au How easy is that!!!

A big thank you to the students who have already submitted their testimonials!

5. Accommodaton Assistance
We will be very pleased to hear from you if you have spent your stay in Melbourne housed in private accommodation. As you are aware we have many students coming to spend a semester or full year with Victoria University in 2005. Many of these students will be like you and prefer to stay close to the city. So it will make us, and the incoming students, extremely happy if we can help find accommodation for them by using your contacts. Please forward information via email.

Thanks to those students who have already forwarded these details. It is very much appreciated!

6. Overseas Advisor - Promote by Testimonial
A big hello to all our International Advisors from our partner institutes. We are currently promoting our exchange programs for semester 2, 2005 and advising students on overseas destinations. Therefore, we are requesting your assistance by providing a few paragraphs on what makes your institute special, the wonderful things you can do in your area of the world, and any other information about your institute you would like to offer. This is a great way to be able to showcase your institute to our students. Please reply by email to sharon.boyd@vu.edu.au
