1. Keep in Touch!
It's wonderful to hear from you, or to see your happy faces. Samantha and I have caught up with a few of you over the last couple of weeks and we are very pleased to hear that you are really enjoying study and life in Melbourne.

Remember we are only a phone call, or an emai away, and we will answer or help you with anything, regardless of how trivial you think it is!!

3. All Canada Day - Calling all Students!
Representatives from the Canadian High Commission will attend Victoria University (Footscray Park campus) on Wednesday 15 September. There will be a 'Academic Research" session held at 10.00am, an 'Information Booth' will be open from 11.00am to 2.00pm in Building M (outside the VU Bookshop), and a 'Student Exchange' session will be held from 1.00pm to 2.00pm in Building D, Room D230. You are all welcome to attend!

4. What's on!
The Royal Melbourne show begins 16 September and continues for 11 days (26 September) at the show grounds in Ascot Vale. The show is Victoria's premier public event, offering fantastic opportunities to experience the very best Victoria has to offer in rural life, animals, fun and learning, taste and style, carnival and entertainment. If you attend the show, you will have the chance to feed animals, throw a basketball, pat a bull, cuddle a lamb, milk a cow, taste a pie, ride a dodgem, fly the Megadrop and choose a showbag of lollies or your favourite action hero, etc. For more information go to: Royal Melbourne Show

Also 'that one day in September' is nearly here. Melbourne goes crazy during the AFL final series. I know I'm pretty excited my team (Essendon) managed to stay in the competition last weekend (Go the Bombers!). Yes! It's that time of the year when relatively sane people become a little loopy!! There will be a lot of action in the streets of Melbourne (especially if a Melbourne team makes the AFL final). Visit Federation square in the lead up to the Grand Final for lots of fun free activities organised for Grand Final Week. To find out more go to: Grand Final Week

Melbourne is showing the very best of fashion over the next week. There are many fashion shows being held in department stores and other venues. Melbourne Fashion Week started on the 6th of September and runs until the 12th of Semptember. To find out more: http://203.26.235.226/msfw/

5. Your Contribution
Knock, knock, who's there?......ANYONE!!
No contributions have been passed on to me for this fortnight's newsletter....I know that most of you have been actively touring the Victorian countryside on your weekends and have experienced some fun times. Please let us know about them! You can also supply photos if you like!

I have contributed the following to kick start this section (I thought this may be appropriate for some of you):

LESSON: If you want something; just ask for it!

After receiving their child's letter, they immediately replied by sending a letter back.

Dear Son / Daughter,

I kNOw that astroNOmy, ecoNOmics, and oceaNOgraphy are eNOugh to keep even an hoNOr student busy. Do NOt forget that the pursuit of kNOwledge is a NOble task, and you can never study eNOugh.
