Welcome to the Self Access Centre (SAC)

The SAC is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. and you can use the SAC during non-class times.

The SAC is a place where you can improve your English by doing reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation or writing.

You can do these activities by working through a kit or by using the computer.  You will have at least 2 SAC classes per week where you will be required to complete a minimum of 2 SAC tasks per session.

The SAC contains a variety of kits, each kit is in a plastic hang-up bag and each bag has a colour, a code and a title on the left hand side of the bag. The colour refers to the language level. 

The code refers to the language skill area:

Each kit contains a set of instruction, an activity and an answer sheet.

Read the instruction and write the answers in the kit using special markers. (Do not use a pen!)

Check your answers.

Record the activity that you have completed on your Self Access Contract Sheet and show your teacher. 

When you have completed your SAC kit, clean it with a damp cloth, rewind the tape and place the activity booklet right way up in the plastic hang up bag.  Return the kit to the blue basket.
